(English version below)

English Version

Lay-Ooff is both a series of committed videos for the common well-being and an audio-visual show constructed to unveil and accuse the back stages of our unbridled capitalist system. Oof, by this fun and dancing performance, conveys a strong message of hope through which he calls on people to fight for a better world by becoming aware of a threatened ecology, alienated food and massive waste of fossil fuels resources. For “Dismiss”, Modeselktor’s music propels the heavy atmosphere of eight intertwined film fragments and makes plain the human consequences of the offshoring. Here, the technostructure has made a decision. The factory will shift eastwards to China, the working hours will be precisely timed and some workers dismissed. The executives are overwhelmed; they are too threatened by this restructuring. Some resign, others commit suicide. A story ends badly in the West with broken families and exceeded workers. As summarized by the bartender who plays opposite José Garcia in Le Couperet “The Company shoots itself in the foot”.
