Jaïs Elalouf aka Oof mixes art, music and video. A music producer, video director, art curator and collector, he manages Ping Pong, a PR music agency, which represented Ninja Tune record label for 15 years (Hyphen Hyphen, Gonzales…). A convinced ecologist, passionnate about alternative art and culture, he develops the project of an Psychedelic art center reuniting his art collection and immersive spaces. His films mix his own shootings and file footages, creating a sweet retro atmosphere with electronic and groovy beats.

VIDEOS & LIVES

A pioneer DVJ (sounds & videos), Jaïs Elalouf has produced 70 mash-ups synchronizing musics, fiction and file footages, animated movies and documentaries on different topics : French films, McLaren’s animated movies, activism, aviation, animation, psychedelia, vintage adds and eroticism. He has been commissionned many audiovisual creations, from Le Forum des Images (eroticism), Universal (French films), the french hight-tech industrial group Safran (aviation), the Maison Rouge Museum (drugs), Les Publivores (old TV commercials), the National Film Board of Canada (mapping on a 50 meter high church with Norman McLaren’s videos) and in 2019, the French National Audiovisual Institute (INA), about the origins of the electronic music (in duo with J.B. Dunckel from AIR).

OVERALL PROJECT

an associate artist with the artistic space, the « Centquatre », Jaïs produced the « Nuits Ouf », which were giant artistic night events, and conceived the video project « Dance conscious » that denounces the machinery of a wild capitalist system, the devastating effect of junk food and the waste of fossil resources.

The guilt of taking the plane pushes him to think about solutions to change the world. He began to ask the question to 80 international personalities and gathers their answers in a webdocumentary still in progress named Be the change, which feeds his music. Oof’s first solo EP « Infinie Expansion » (2016) under the pseudo JAÏS, already mixed these interviews in music and clips. Jaïs and his band performed at the Grand Palais for the event « Solutions Cop21 ».

DISCOGRAPHY

Oof has produced about fifteen eclectic mixtapes (Acid Test), the album Cinémix (Universal), and records under several pseudonyms: Zzouf in 2004 (breakbeat with Zero dB on Tru Thoughts), Lunivers in 2013, with the house-pop underground hit « Happy Route » (Radio Nova playlist). His new project under the name of OOF is tinged with a more musical aim.
